Three Iraqis killed in US air strikes: Baghdad 18:04 GMT, 08 May 1999 BAGHDAD, May 8 (AFP) -Three Iraqis were killed and two others wounded in a raid by US warplanes on Iraq's northern no-fly zone on Saturday, an Iraqi military spokesman said here. "Enemy planes fired 18 times on civilian and military positions in the north, causing the martyrdom of three Iraqi citizens and wounding two others," a spokesman for Iraq's anti-aircraft defenses told the official INA news agency. The spokesman said "private property" had also been damaged in the raid. He did not specify if the casualties had been civilians or military personnel. Iraqi air defences "heroically confronted the evil crows, forcing them to flee" back to base in Turkey, "with failure and humiliation trailing behind them," he said. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a discussion list run by Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq.
